Temple Trek #3

Over Spring Break we did our 3rd, and furthest temple trek. We went to the Monticello Temple, and to Moab for some R&R. It was a great week.

We started it out on the COLDEST day ever, and stopped by the Payson Temple site. A "digger" is all that was there. Not even a sign?

There is nothing in this little town. That is not an understatement. We did find this one little diner to eat at. We were the only ones there for most of the time.

The next morning we took a Hummer trip out on the slick rocks. We had a professional driver, but it was still scary! They rate the trails from 1-5. 5 being most difficult. The trail we did was a 3, called Hell's revenge. Really fun, but kinda crazy!

Next we hiked up to delicate arch in Arches National park. It was a riot. The hike was 1.5 each way! The kids did great. It was difficult, but I think that is what kept them interested. All along the way there would be stacks of rocks to show you the path. I think it is an Indian thing, but very interesting. Here is a picture of one of the piles of rocks.

It is an amazing site once you get there. It is places like this that scream to me that God is Good! What a beautiful place we have to live.

After that we headed to this fun little sandy spot. We were there for hours and the kids LOVED it.

The next day we rented Rangers to play around on. We packed a lunch, found a trail, and we were off. It was grand.

Moab has become one of our Fav.'s! It is a must see. Ruth summed it all up when she said, "Who needs Disneyland?" She was right, this was so fun to be in nature with these little kids. I highly suggest a visit to the Monticello Temple and Moab. It was a great family trip.
